Damaris Cudworth Masham (1659-1708), English philosopher. Girl of philosopher Ralph Cudworth, and friend of English philosopher John Locke. She published deuce works in issues of theology, epistemology, & moral philosophy, and corresponded using Leibniz and Locke on metaphysical issues. Inside her promulgated books, Masham argued for improved education for women & objected to double standards of "virtue" for women & men. Masham's act can every bit well exist as seen as foreshadowing what may nowadays become considered feminist ethics and epistemology: interests in connection when opposed to separation, rejection of asceticism, and rejection of the worship of pure power.
